Wacky Cake!

It's our last month to bake from Julie Richardson's Vintage Cakes, as the Cake Slice Bakers will be moving on to a new book next month. The last month in our current book always means that we get to pick any cake from the book and bake it.

I chose the Wacky Cake, 1. because it was easy and I wanted easy, and 2. because the ingredients (no eggs or butter and instead white vinegar) had me intrigued. This might be the most moist chocolate cake that I have ever had and gets huge bonus points because I would almost always have everything needed on hand to bake it, perfect for when you are craving a chocolate fix! And of course, the chocolate ganache that I added to the top of the cake was well, the icing on the cake. Super glad that I picked this one.

Stay tuned next month when we reveal the next book that we will be baking from!

I sooo have to try the Wacky Cake... My favorite chocolate cupcakes use vinegar instead of eggs/milk/butter too! and yes, they're so fluffy and super moist! So I know this cake won't disappoint me! You did a great job! So happy you enjoyed it! YUM!

No eggs, no butter?! Interesting! Going to have to book mark this one, you have no idea how many time I have had a chocolate craving and I have been missing either the eggs or butter or both!

and mixing the ingredients in the cake pan itself or something to the effect. And Julie said that the original recipe was wackier than hers! Good choice!

Add me to the list of bakers that are intrigued by no butter or eggs in a cake. So many cakes to bake and so much exercising to do!
