Saver or Spender?

Are you a saver or a spender? We are a healthy mix at our house, and we look for ways to stretch our budget whenever we can. I'd like to be able to spend more sometimes, but realize that means I have to learn how to save more.

I have seen this on several friend's Facebook pages and have decided to give it a try. I am modifying and tallying the month up and just depositing that amount to savings once each month rather than trying to remember each week. I've also seen the suggestion to try this working from the bottom, so that you would save the larger amounts at the beginning of the year and work down to smaller amounts around holiday time.

Are you a saver or a spender?

I love this idea and I hadn't seen it before. I like the idea of starting with the bigger deposits.

I am trying to save more this year. What I wonder is where does the extra money come from so by the end $52 dollars saved. I guess if you get in the habit then it would be easier? So good idea but don't fully get how it works.

Stacie..this is a fabulous idea! You know, we always have the best intentions when it comes to saving. But this chart, really makes it look so simple. I am definitely starting this today! : )

Ooh I've never seen that before. Funny thing is in our house we're both savers, to the point where we probably miss out on some things in life. We just went to a financial advisor appointment, and they were talking about how there's a nerd and a dreamer, and we both just cracked up and said, umm I think we're both nerds! :-)

I like this idea, but I'm like you, I'll probably do it monthly versus weekly and see how it goes.
