I Had No Clue...

that you could mail plastic Easter eggs! Did you? I saw this blog post over at Making Memories last week and thought this was the neatest idea ever!

This is a perfect project for a trip to the dollar store. You can get all kinds of candy and fun fillers there. Just like the inspiration post, I used the large eggs that contained Pop Rocks (my dollar store didn't have these but WalMart had them for a buck). I added a little Easter grass, just a little (didn't want to get on the bad list of the parents whose kids are getting these!), then added a few small toys and pieces of candy. Next, a little note from me went in. Then I sealed them up, addressed them, and headed to the post office, holding my breath. I just knew they were going to look at me like I was nuts!

But they were cool, though less than thrilled about trying to get those postage stickers on the eggs (that's the reason you get no picture with the postage attached, I didn't want to push my luck with the nice postal lady....). I can't wait to hear from the kiddos that I sent the eggs to. I hope they are surprised when they get them!

Now, go see Janette (just click that pretty little button below) and see what is inspiring her and others! And don't forget to link up your own great find--the more people at the party, the more fun!

SUCH a cute idea! I'd be afraid of our post office lady though...I often have to mail soil samples for my work, and when we package them in a too-small box, she gets a little cross. ;) She probably would flip if I brought in Easter Eggs!!!! haha!

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! That is the coolest thing EVER! Now I want to mail Easter eggs! I think I'm too lazy to go buy the supplies. I'll send this to my mom. She'll do it for me!!!

Wow!!! What a great present to send to someone. I would never have guessed that they'd allow those to make it through the mail system. You do the most creative things for holidays! Weren't you the one who linked up the St Patties day treat bags to Janette's link up? Those were awesome, too!

I haven't seen an easter egg yet but I will say that I went and got 8 big ole eggs and have the intention to give this a try and thank you from the bottom of my obsessive heart!

For the sake of time- please let me know what else is up your sleeve so I can get a head start on it now.

I'm gonna try to make a felt banner-- not sure why it sounds easier than burlap, but I'm gonna do it!
