Good News / Bad News - Part 2

When I wrote this post and told you all about my job being eliminated, I never dreamed that more than a year would pass before I could write this post telling you my job search had ended. But finally, after 13 months, the search has ended and I am employed once again! The Rev is excited because Christmas is back on! And I am just plain overwhelmed and nervous--I even had some sort of mild panic attack my first day back. I feel out of sorts since I have been out of the work force for so long and I am replacing a well liked person who is moving on after 8 years, so I feel like I have impossible shoes to fill. I trained some last week and I'll work at getting organized and settling in this week. I'm grateful the search is over and I'm just going to work my ample butt off to get the job done.

So, what could possibly be bad, you ask? Oh, how I miss my little buddy Mater every day! We have gotten so used to having him around here that my first thought after accepting the position was how was I going to tell Team Jacie? Packing all of his toys and stuff up was agonizing and I cried the whole time...and that was how I am coping a week after the fact! I'm planning to ask his parents if I can take him out for a date every week, just to get my quality time in.....does that make me a cougar? Oh, who cares, I love that little fella!

So, we made it, we never had to go on the Ramen noodle diet, and all of the bills got paid (thanks Uncle Sam and Team Jacie for helping us out there!). Now, if we can just get some good news for my Mom who has been out of work even longer than me...

Congratulations! I think it's a great idea to have a "date" with your little buddy. I'm sure he misses you too! :))

Congratulations on the new job! It took me 11 months after my office closed and moved out of state to find something else. I ended up going back to waitressing because everything else was a HUGE pay cut. Good luck to you!! :)
