A Sister Makes Amends (or Chocolate Covered Easter Eggs)

For years when we were younger, we got to visit MeeMaw and PawPaw's house at least once a month, maybe more. There were plenty of things that you got to do there that made trips special--you got to have the best scrambled eggs ever for breakfast, climb trees, ride on the lawnmower, one of us got to sit on the stool at meal time (we argued about who got to sit there because it was always right between MeeMaw and PawPaw), and special holiday treats were always present.

We always got these huge Chocolate Covered Fruit & Nut eggs at our place during the Easter meal. I never cared for these eggs, and after many years finally fessed up to MeeMaw as much and we stopped getting them. No need for her to waste her money, right? Boy, was I wrong--who knew that my brother, BestBuys, loved them! Every now and again he reminds me of how I did him out of his eggs.

So, this Easter I took to the internet and found a recipe to recreate his beloved Fruit & Nut egg. Once I got started, it was hard to stop, so I also created a Peanut Butter version (for my SIL Kiki), and Chocolate Cherry Nut Cream, Buttercream, and Chocolate Fudge for my other family and friends. I am a little worried about how BestBuys' favorite turned out and I may search for another recipe to try for next year...but hopefully it is an olive branch in the right direction!

Kiki loved her Peanut butter eggs. No need to change mine for next year.
