Old Fashioned Pound Cake with Chocolate Chips

Another month, another cake with the Cake Slice Bakers - my first from our new book, Great Cakes by Carole Walter.

Our assigned cake was the Old Fashioned Pound Cake. There were several variations available and I chose the one that called for the addition of chocolate chips. I thought it was a little dry, but it was an easy cake to whip up and didn't call for any crazy ingredients. It was better the next day when warmed slightly in the microwave. It received compliments from the crowd at our Date Night Challenge Kickoff.

Have you baked anything yummy recently? Share with me!

The cake turned out beautiful! I love it when pound cakes have that gorgeous crack down the middle like that!

Stacie, your cake looks so good...not dry at all! I should have tried warming mine up in the microwave. And I wish I had baked the chocolate chip version, too! : )

I have all but stopped attempting baking over here. Two cookie recipes have been fails, so I'm pretty sure there must be a big difference between US flour and British flour. :o(

I'd certainly be reaching for another slice (or two) of your cake. I love that ratio of chocolate chips to cake.

Sorry to hear your cake was a little dry :( But this chocolate chips dispersed out so beautiful-like! All my chocolate chips tend to fall into a corner or something when I add them to cake.

Nice job :)
