Crayon Wreath

Well, 2 weeks into the new school year and I finally finished making a Crayon Wreath for the school Office door. I had seen many variations on Pinterest and Etsy and ended up merging several ideas to create this version.

The crayons (it took 3 - 24 count boxes) are attached to an 8 inch and a 12 inch embroidery hoop. Then I added a painted wooden frame, an apple, and a "Welcome" chalkboard printable. (On a side note, making chalkboard printables is too much fun and no chalk dust!)

Since I had the hoops and paint in my craft supply stash, my only cost was for the crayons, frame, and apple - a total cost of $4.50.

If you know me well, please take note of the fact that the crayons are not arranged in color or alpha order...hardest part of the craft for sure was fighting the urge to rainbow order the crayons...

hah, they aren't in color or alpha order!!? WHAT!? hah, it looks so cute. I'm room mom for Ryan's class and Ive gotta decorate her door at some point-- NERVOUS!! We are too much alike. I did a lunch duty a week or so ago and the kids were sitting at the table. One side had 15 kids and the other side had like 5. It was so uneven and awkward. My OCD was being challenged.
