I pack my lunch every day because every penny counts and I'm not paying $3 for rectangle school pizza and corn...
Tip #229
Avoid prepackaged individual portions and save money.
I know it is so tempting to buy those cute packages of Cheez-Its that are already portioned out, but you can save big by buying the larger box and making your own snack size portions using baggies. The same holds true for chips, cookies, even fruit and veggies. You can portion servings out on Sunday evening and just grab and go the rest of the week!
P.S. I'm on the hunt for low cost lunch ideas so that I don't get bored. Any suggestions?

Hey, don't knock that rectangle pizza! I always looked forward to Pizza Fridays in elem. school! :o)
My favorite lunch right now is a turkey and avocado wrap with an orange on the side. Yummy and healthy!
I try to follow this rule! The only one that still gets me is the little snack-sized yogurts. A friend of mine told me a few years ago it's more economical and earth-friendly to buy a big yogurt and take little containers on lunches, but the convenience of those pre-packaged little yogurts still suck me in every time...
I loved that pizza. but 30 years ago I don't think we paid but 75cents. Things change.
great tip my favorite to snack right now cheese and pretzel
I'm getting school lunch next week. Chili and Cinnamon Roll!!
So true! I always try to do this. I am boring- I usually make turkey sandwiches every day with a green smoothie. Or leftovers from dinner.
