The cake batter was yummy,we may have licked the beaters! And the fudge frosting came together easily. Overall, I was pleased, though the fudge frosting was not quite as sweet as I would like, I might would cut it 1/2 semi-sweet, 1/2 milk chocolate if I made it again. Recipe is here if you want to give it a whirl!

Yum! Yellow cake and chocolate frosting is my 2nd favorite ... my top choice is always Red Velvet. I can't wait for my birthday next month!
I love yellow cake with chocolate too! I think that must be what my Mom always made for me.
I thought the fudge lacked sweetness too when I tasted it on its own but I thought it went great with the cake... I guess everybody's taste is different ;) Your cake looks lovely! Great job!
Stacie, I LOVE the classic look of your beautiful 4 layer cake! Great job!

Your cake sure does look yummy!
Funny that I thought the combo of the cake and the frosting was too sweet ha! Just shows how different everyone is.

This is yummy, love the 4 layers!
Oh such a classic cake! It really has to be round and lots of layers too, only way for that combo.
Oh I think a combination of semi-sweet and milk chocolate in the frosting would be perfect!
Your cake looks lovely, by the way :)
What a pretty cake! Thanks for your thoughts on the frosting--since I made the other cake, it's nice to have a review of whether the fudge frosting recipe is good or not.
