Tip #172
Save some gas for the fun stuff by running your errands the smart way.
Combine as many errands into one trip as possible and organize your route for maximum efficiency. Make the longest leg of the trip first, because a warmer engine is a more efficient engine. By doing this, stops on the return trip will burn less fuel. Every penny counts! Just curious, how much is gas in your area?

great tip
Gas is running $3.33 currently and it has been falling.
We bike to work weather permitting, and I do my best to organize the errands, but we live in a small town so nothing is really all that far away.
I live in a small town, about 45-mins from any "big-time" shopping malls/plazas. I always have to make sure the trip is worthwhile!!!
I had to take my girl to tumbling yesterday when it was 100 degrees. We would have done anything to not have to get in that hot car!
I think we'll be staying closer to home.
$3.22?? I'm moving! ;)
It did drop to $4.02 here this week, which is about 20 cents less than last week. Yay! Here's to hoping it keeps going down!
Honestly, I'm not sure what the price of gas is. I use premium and I hardly ever look at the cost. I always get gas at the same place so if I ever have any troubles with my fuel or fuel related parts I can't say have it said I bought bad gas at the cheap joint.
But I do my errands as you have said. Always the farthest place first and work my way back. Though I do the stores on the right side first so that I do not have to cross traffic.
I just paid $3.42 but I got the most expensive to avoid ethanol. I was told by my husband recently that it's the smarter choice even though it's more expensive. The 100% gas costs more but you don't go through it as fast. You'll have to research that for me. I'm just too lazy.
I always love your tips. Thanks for linking up. BUMP YET?
It was $3.72 a few days ago... we live on the way to the beach so it goes up on the weekends and is more expensive on the main highways. Hubby got a motorcycle and wants me to get one on those little cars... neither of those work for me. I did not know that a warm engine is more effient... good info! Thanks!
