Holiday Potpourri

I love the smells that come along with this time of year. Here is a great, quick, inexpensive gift that you can make as favors for guests, for the neighbors, or for anyone that you want to share a little good smelling holiday cheer with this year.

For each gift bag, you'll need:

1 whole apple
1 whole lemon
1 whole orange
3 whole cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
6 whole allspice berries

Simply add all of the above to a cellophane bag and tie it up with some pretty ribbon. Attach instructions for use and you are done--its that simple!

Instructions to include with your potpourri:

Holiday Potpourri
1. Cut fruit into 1/2-inch thick slices.
2. Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan and cover with water.
3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and allow to simmer uncovered, adding water throughout the day as needed.
4. Re-heat your potpourri for several days, adding water as needed, until it loses its scent.
