That's right, we're running our own canning factory around here. Add this to the list of new stuff that we are learning in the country! Growing grocery costs plus an abundance of beans given to us equals the need to learn how to can.
We borrowed a canner from Mother Hen and canned 15 quarts of green beans this past weekend. It is alot of work but I love learning new skills and now I'll be prepared to can up anything else that comes our way and enjoy fresh vegetables all winter long!
Making jam a few weeks ago and now canning green beans--June Cleaver is bound to be shaking in her pearls...

I am SO JEALOUS! I would love to learn to can, but the only relative I know that does it is my great grandma in TN. I am going to have to have her teach me though! I am blogging about you tonight! Enjoy your beans.
