Ready or Not...

40 is coming for me in just 9 short days. And since the 10 years since my last milestone birthday have been pretty good - got married, bought a house, had a baby - I'm just not sweating it that much. I guess eventually we realize that we have a choice, we can worry about what we haven't accomplished or we can just be thankful for what we have.

So, what can you get me for my birthday? So glad that you asked! It's huge...are you ready for it??? Just do something nice for someone else. Yep, that's it. Now, I'm not talking about holding the door for someone or helping a young Mom with her hands full or an elderly person who moves just a little slower - contrary to the current direction that our society is taking, those aren't acts of kindness, they are everyday common courtesies that we have forgotten. Instead go a little out of your way - pay someone else's tab at a restaurant, take popsicles to a ball field of kids, leave a cooler of water on a walking trail, leave quarters at a parking meter or a ride on toy/gumball machine. Use your imagination!

And when you spread the kindness, will you share with me? I'd love to see at least 40 acts to celebrate my 40th. Here's how it will work:

1. Commit your act of kindness, document with a photo for fun!
2. Tag me on Instagram (parkavenuestacie) and use #kindnessnevergetsold
3. Not on Instagram? Tag me on Facebook (Stacie Stamper) and use #kindnessnevergetsold
4. Not a Social Media crazy? Email me at staciebuys@yahoo.com and share

I'll catalog all of the acts and where they occur and share a big map with you in the coming weeks, so we can see how much kindness we shared!

P.S. If anyone wants to commit the ULTIMATE act of kindness and clean our basement out, hit me up, I'll give you our address!

Happy early birthday! You know, if I were closer, I WOULD actually help you with that basement. :) I get an odd sort of fulfillment out of organizing and giving things away - even if it isn't my own stuff!

What a nice idea! Happy Birthday! May the next ten be as exciting. I can tell you it will go by faster than the last ten.
