Just In Case They Care...

I thought that I would let the government know that their little temper tantrum is wreaking havoc over here! Elise's 1st birthday party is scheduled for this Saturday...in a park picnic shelter that will close due to the shutdown on Friday at 4:00. I have 35 plus guests, 50 chicken halves, 2 cakes, countless decorations (that it has taken hours to make!), a photographer and no party location. Not to mention a sweet little girl, who will only turn 1 once.

I am beyond disgusted, frustrated, aggravated, you name it. Now, I know that there are many whose jobs and ability to care for their families are in jeopardy during this shutdown, and I don't think that my problem is greater than theirs, but, man am I upset. And, someday, I will have to explain to Elise why it is necessary for her to get along with others, to be respectful, to be a problem-solver, when grown ups cannot...

Off to research alternate locations and try to salvage this, wish me luck.

Oh NO! This is the last thing you need after all the planning and preparing for such a big celebration... :( I'm sure it will all come together, you'll find another location, and Elise's 1st birthday will be just perfect!!

Oh, honey! That's just awful! I really hope you find an alternate venue that will be just as good! Try not to let it spoil the day! She will love the party wherever it is!

Praying for Plan B. I really don't get why parks in open air have to be shut down. Its ridiculous. I won't go into more but I hope E has a Happy Birthday non-the-less and just know-- only you and maybe Rev know what your plans are-- so if they don't work out-- your guests have no idea-- they accept whatever they get when they arrive. No worries!! <-- I need to take my own advice.

Oh I am so so sorry! That truly is awful. I hate hate this shut down and I hate that the President is going above and sometimes even beyond his powers to try and make everyone suffer through it
