Elise - 8 Months

Dear Elise,

I can't believe you are already 8 months old! Here is what you are up to:

•You weighed 14lbs. 11oz. and were 26 inches long at your 6 month checkup. No more doctor visits scheduled until 9 months, so no update here.
•Your absolute favorite food is a combination of banana and avocado. You also really like sweet potatoes mixed with apples.Your next favorite is beets, though you have no clue that I use those to sneak in the cauliflower and zucchini that you don't care for. When I feed you, you eat like a little lady, but when Daddy is in charge...

•You were sleeping through the night, but have started to wake around 2AM....
•You are getting good at pulling and sitting in your crib, so we had to move the crib down a notch this month...made me a little sad...
•You wear size 2 diapers.
•You are wearing mostly size 6 months clothing, with a few 6-9 month pieces thrown in.
•You went to Vacation  Bible School for the first time this month and had a blast, of course, it helped that you had some of your favorites in charge of the nursery. You made some super cute footprint and fingerprint art, your first art for Mommy and Daddy! And with a little help, you wrote your favorite thing about VBS and attached it to a balloon to release for someone else to find!

•No teeth yet, but I feel like any day now....
•You are learning to blow raspberries and have figured out that you can make cool vibrating noises if you you talk while I am patting your back.
•You are so close to crawling, you will definitely have that down pat before long.
•You have made the switch to a bigger carseat, still rear facing, but not a carrier. It allows you to look out the window and you will just stare as we drive. I so want to know what you are thinking as you see new things pass by.
•You had some pool time for the first time this month and loved it....Daddy is raising a daredevil, I turned my head for a second and he had dunked you all the way under...you just laughed.

•Not a day goes by that your Daddy doesn't say, "How much do you love that little thing?" I can see already that you and he are going to share a very special bond.

You are our greatest joy!

Mommy (and Daddy!)

She is such a doll! Yes, daddy definitely seems to have a different way of feeding her. :)
Sometimes when they learn something new, like pulling themselves up they like to practice it in the night, why she may be waking up at night now

Okay, all the babies I know need to slow down and stop growing. Elise included. 8 months old?! No way!!! She's a cutie, and I love that she just laughed when her daddy dunked her in the pool! Awesome!! ;)

That pool picture is precious, but how in the world did she get to be 8 months old so quickly? I almost gasped out loud when I read that b/c it truly doesn't seem like that much time could have already gone by. :o(

Are you already planning the first birthday party?
