Embroidered Initial Ring

I have told you before that I love Etsy and all of the wonderful, talented crafters who sell their wares there. Etsy is awesome for inspiration! I stumbled upon this picture of an item they were selling one day and fell in love.

I wasn't sure if I would wear a necklace, but I love chunky rings and knew that would be a versatile addition to my jewelry collection. I used leftover fabric from another project and a brass ring blank that I already had, so my only cost was for the embroidery floss.

I simply traced a letter in pencil onto the fabric and then outlined it in my black floss. Next, I stretched the fabric over an inverted button, because I wanted a dome like look (a covered button kit would work as well), and glued it down using e6000. Then I glued the button into the ring blank and waited for it to dry--that was probably the hardest step!

Super happy with my results! And I know that the Rev will love it since he is always making fun of my "Green Lantern rings"--won't he be surprised when he finds out that I really do harbor super powers...

I love it!!! Great job! The dome top was a nice touch, too. Do you have your own Etsy shop?
