You might remember last year when I blinged out my own car for the Pinewood Derby. Of course, I had to let little E in on the fun this year, even if she is only 4 months old!
I painted sky and grass on the car and then when we had painting night at church, I let her paint thumbprints on the car. Then I embellished her thumbprints and turned them into flowers and little animals. She did great and since I just dabbed the paint on her thumb with a q-tip, there was no mess. She didn't even try to eat it--and that is saying something since she puts everything in her mouth these days!
We had our church's race 2 weeks ago and she cheered her car on...all the way to 1st place in the Girl's Division! This past weekend she won 3rd place in the Pre-K Division and Most Christlike car in our Association wide Pinewood Derby.
The Rev won nothing...just a thanks for participating ribbon. If they had been giving out ribbons for slowest car, he would have been a shoo-in. I should mention that he is already plotting out how he can do better next year...did you know that for a hundred bucks you can buy some souped up Pinewood car guaranteed to win?
