Tip #143
and now your sweater is a better fit for Barbie than for you.
If you accidentally machine wash a sweater that calls for hand washing and it shrinks, soak the incredible shrinking sweater in a sink full of cool water and 1/4 cup hair conditioner for 30 minutes. A common chemical found in conditioner will relax and soften wool and cashmere fibers, returning the sweater to its original size. After soaking, gently rinse the sweater, roll it in a clean towel to absorb moisture, then lay flat to dry.

I so wish I had known that little rid-bit last winter when my sweater was destroyed, or I thought it was destroyed. Dang it!
Thanks for linking up with us, we love your tippsy TTUT's!
Hubby never touched the laundry unless I tell him too and leave thorough instructions. It's best that way.
My husband has never done laundry a day in his life. A monkey would probably do a better job than him! :o) But this is a great tip!
I wish I had known this a few months ago - my future sister-in-law had brought some laundry to my mom's when her and my brother first moved into their new house and didn't have a washer & dryer yet. She left a load of shirts and sweaters in the machine, and Mom kindly moved them to the dryer for her - and, of course, shrunk 'em all. (My mother is notorious for this!!)
Really?? That works??? My hub isn't allowed to wash clothes so thank All That Good and Holy I do not have find out if that works.
Do you know how many times I have done this?? Where was this tip 2 months ago? Or last year when I ruined 2 sweaters! Ok, technically M ruined them but I couldn't be mad because he did laundry. I hate that.
Anyway, I'm filing this one away for safe keeping!
Thanks for linking up with us! xoxo
Hubby does do the laundry around here - I have shrunk too many things!! :))
