Friday Confessional
I confess…that I feel like I have neglected EVERYTHING this week.
I confess…that I haven’t had much time to blog or to read yours. I miss you guys!
I confess…that I haven’t cooked a single meal and I’m sick of eating out.
I confess…that I have barely straightened up the house any day this week. I am quite certain that my Swiffer duster and the cordless sweeper think that I have abandoned them.
I confess…that even though he says making the bed is unnecessary, by Thursday, even the Rev, was craving some order.
I confess…that I traded all of that stuff for VBS and a group of rowdy Kindergarten and 1st grade boys and 1 sweet little girl this week.
I confess…that we’ve covered tons of Bible stories, verses, discussed how Jesus rode on a donkey (no, it did not talk like the one in Shrek), covered what animals you can and cannot shoot with a gun (remember, I said they were rowdy boys), danced and sang, ate way too many snacks, and made “craps” (read crafts). I’m pooped, but it was a lot of fun.
I confess…that next week, I’ll be back to normal.
I confess…that I have to go try to figure out how to get orange punch out of my khaki pants and try to scrub the rest of the Kool-Aid playdough that we made out from under my fingernails.
Go see Mamarazzi and add your own confessions!

"...discussed how Jesus rode on a donkey (no, it did not talk like the one in Shrek)"
LOL That cracked me up!!!
I'm now picturing how a conversation might have gone between the Shrek donkey and Jesus haha.
Are you familiar with Jon Acuff? He had a funny blog about VBS the other day that you might enjoy. http://www.jonacuff.com/stuffchristianslike/2011/06/getting-ready-for-vacation-bible-school/
Sounds like you managed to get a good lesson or two in there one way or another. There is a place for those who willingly take on little boys.
I always loved VBS growing up :) At my church it was always the week of my birthday, haha
A week of playdough and Kool-Aid only comes around once a year, cleaning can wait!
I totally get like that where I don't feel like cooking but don't want to eat out. Such a dilemma. Anyway, Happy Friday!
Happy Friday!
And ps...I feel like I've neglected some stuff too this week!
Hope your weekend is better! :)

Everyday Life
This blog is so appropriate! I am sitting here catching up on some blog readings and thinking I need to register my son for VBS & your blog reminded me of my first time teaching VBS - which happened to be Kindergartners! All they talked about was killing deer, or video games. Hilarious!
