Tipsy Tuesday (#100)

Not so plain Jane…

Tip #100

Did you know that with plain yogurt, you can:

Polish your copper? Apply 1 tablespoon of yogurt to dull spots on your copper pots and let sit for 5 minutes. Then rinse with cool water and buff with a soft cloth. The acid in the yogurt will dissolve the dark copper oxide stains.

Entertain your kids? Spoon a dollop of yogurt into each well of a muffin tin and add a drop of food coloring to each. Stir it up and you’ve got safe, edible finger paint for a rainy day.

Tenderize tough beef? Combine 1 cup of yogurt, 2 teaspoons cumin, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 crushed garlic clove, and 1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro; pour over beef. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours, then cook as desired. The lactic acid will help break down the meat’s connective fibers and produce a more tender cut of beef.

I say this every week but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tipsy Tuesday's! I seriously try them. No, really I do.

My fav is the finger paint idea.
