Use this tip and you won't have tomatoes that taste like a metal can.
Sometimes canned tomatoes have a tendency to taste like the metal can that they have been sitting in. Simmer the tomatoes uncovered for a few minutes. The heat will dehydrate them slightly and concentrate their juices, getting rid of the tin taste and leaving a better flavor behind.
