I remember this story from when we were little about how our great grandmother, MeeMaw's mother, would eat half of her dinner, eat her dessert, and then finish her dinner. It had something to do with dipping sweet snuff and it clashing with a sweet dessert at the end of a meal.
That may very well be the case, but it could also have to do with a love of sweets. MeeMaw eats like a bird, but even if she pushes her plate away and insists that she is full, she ALWAYS has room for something sweet. And I have inherited this quirk from her. I could be stuffed to the point of popping, but if someone offers up something sweet, I can't resist.
It is Meemaw's birthday today and having made it to 79 in this old world is nothing to shake a stick at--so here is wishing MeeMaw a happy day, a healthy year, and a stomach that always has room for dessert!
Love you, MeeMaw!
