Take a survey of your kitchen to see if you may have an energy zapper.
If your stove and refrigerator are next to each other, the fridge has to work harder to stay cool. Slip a large piece of cardboard between the two so that the cardboard, not your fridge, absorbs the heat. Your refrigerator will have to run less to keep cool.
