Another month, another cake with the Cake Slice Bakers - my first from our new book, Great Cakes by Carole Walter. Our assigned cake was the Old Fashioned Pound Cake. There were several variations available and I chose the one that called for the addition of chocolate chips. I thought it was a little dry, but it was an easy cake to whip up and didn't call for any crazy ingredients. It was better the next day when warmed slightly in the microwave. It received compliments from the crowd at our Date Night Challenge Kickoff.

ReplyDeleteStacie, your cake looks so good...not dry at all! I should have tried warming mine up in the microwave. And I wish I had baked the chocolate chip version, too! : )

ReplyDeleteI have all but stopped attempting baking over here. Two cookie recipes have been fails, so I'm pretty sure there must be a big difference between US flour and British flour. :o(
ReplyDeleteYou know I think the chocolate chip addition might be the winning formula with this cake.. maybe I will give it another go! Hazel x
