There is a chance of wintry weather here today. Ya'll know what that means in the south? All the crazies are running out for bread and milk!Tip #205
Use this tip to beat them to the freshest loaf.
According to an online article, bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different color twist tie or plastic tag:.
Monday = Blue,
Tuesday = Green
Thursday = Red
Friday = White
Saturday = Yellow.
So today, Tuesday, you would want a green twist tie; not red, which would be 5 days old! The colors go alphabetically by color, so its easy to remember!
I have to admit, I never get the whole needing bread and milk thing, if I'm going to be snowed in, I want junk food and lots of it, what about you?
**Alright now, I'm talking tips, head over to see what Impulsive and Shawn are talking about on Talk to us Tuesday!**
I can never remember the colors of the twist ties or tabs-- I just check the dates. I'm a STICKLER for dates. Great tips!!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about this before! Great tip!
ReplyDeleteI had absolutely NO idea about this and likely will screw the colors up and get something that's totally going to expire in less than a week. I'm with you on the stocking up thing, I'd get Snickers because they satisfy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone has spruced up a bit!
ReplyDeleteGood to know but I will never remember what color corresponds with what day, lol.
No way!! Is that nation wide? It seems like all I have ever seen is white ones. I will have to pay more attention now.
