Just in case you are still cleaning and organizing for the new year...Tip #151
and you might have missed this spot--don't forget to wipe down your dishwasher!
A recent study showed that 62% of dishwashers harbor mold, yeast, and other types of fungus. Twice a week you should clean the seal around the door with a disinfectant wipe--this area is where fungi are less likely to be killed by detergents and high temps.

OMG! I NEVER clean my dishwasher. I'm throughly grossed out right now. I have to walk away from blogger to go take care of this.

I need to do this, but since it's one of those "I'll do it later" kind of things, I just keep procrastinating.
ReplyDeletemy fridge does this! I've never thought about the dishwasher. Good tip!

Going to show the hubs this one..the eww factor is something else..
ReplyDeleteThe only time I think to wipe it down is when I see something splashed on the front of it. I always think I need to wipe down the inside where the door shuts...but then something else pops up and takes my attention!
ReplyDeleteI'm in a constant fight with my dishwasher! Ours gets "stuck" on the last rinse cycle and will go for hours if we don't move it a notch. So now we can't really run it when we leave or go to bed. Frustrating. Now I need to clean it too!?! Love-hate relationship continues, haha. Thanks for the tip, though. Keep them coming!
